Football: Cristiano Ronaldo Nuno Ribeiro encourages

The Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United player , needs no introduction. It is already considered one of the best in the world with all its actions, on and off the field, to be viewed and reviewed in detail by the media and, consequently, by the fans. Nuno Ribeiro does not, of course, the same media attention from Ronaldo but still, it is well known in Portugal (I'd say not so much by its quality as a player, since it is tiny, but more for their looks something effeminate and ticks!) .
On 26 September, the Sport Lisboa e Benfica received in the Light Manchester United in a game counting for the Champions League the UEFA . The result was a defeat for the hosts by 0-1 and Cristiano Ronaldo was unanimously considered by national and European sports press as the best element in the field. A view of quality of a player who tried to erase the bad image left on the previous year when, after having replaced provoked the fans with an obscene gesture. This game has given the two players joining the field once more and the pictures say the rest ...
there be someone who can do what many fans would not care to pay to do, me included!

Volleyball: Team OJ British single in London

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) announced this morning at the 30th World Congress of the sport held in Tokyo, Japan, the teams of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland will compete in the Olympic (JO) London in 2012, with a joint team of Volleyball. According to the FIVB president Ruben Acosta Mexican, this will be a team with the sole purpose of playing the Olympics of 2012 as it will be extinguished immediately after the games. The objective of this decision, something unusual, is to encourage this type in the British Isles since this region is underdeveloped. Unable compare the competitiveness of British Volleyball to the world of football, rugby or even the Cricket. It is expected that after the Olympics in London, you can count on three more countries in the world scene mode.

Basketball: Eurobasket 2007

It could be said that Portugal has not had much luck in the draw today, Eurobasket 2007, which will held in Madrid, in Portugal next summer was placed on the group of current world champions, the English selection, along with Croatia and Latvia. Apparently Spaniards and Croats are clearly at another level, but perhaps a Lusitanian inspired selection can beat Latvia and perhaps give some reply to Croats and thus become one of the revelations of the Committee, in its second appearance in the major evidence of the Continental Basketball .

Football: Celtic Benfica gets

"With Nuno Ribeiro and Fernando Santos, or the UEFA we"

This can be a phrase used by either Benfica these days given that by
UEFA can understand qualification for the next phase of the Champions or UEFA Cup this year and qualification for the evidence of UEFA next year by the league. The truth is that these two masters, each in its own way and in their specific position, are ruining the work done by many over the past four years, but let's see:
The first can be seen as a real pin in the field, not run, not an effort on goal, has a high percentage of passes wrong, do not dispute any move for fear of getting hurt, not scores goals, can even say that its only concern is to hold the hair behind the ears! Taking into account that your salary is second highest in the squad Benfica, second only to that of Simao Sabrosa, should show more of what you see it. As I have already said on previous occasions, it seems that only comes into play in order to entertain the fans adversaries since their benefits are truly anecdotal!
However, despite the clear lack of professionalism that demonstrates the use of their responsibility lies solely on Fernando Santos (FS). The "alleged" coach "the
Benfica has shown that the fiercest critics of his hiring were right. The Benfica is already at this point in October, in the limit as to the time lost in their leading competitions. Yesterday, once again, the Benfica lost resoundingly, conceded three goals and still unable to score in this season's Champions ! The unanimous opinion of commentators is the Benfica held up in the first 10 minutes to control the game and create goalscoring chances to end the first half. No wonder it has failed to score a goal as the Italian Miccoli has difficulty playing alone up front (the company Nuno Ribeiro is equivalent to a pin in a workout). At the beginning of the second half on 56 minutes, the Benfica suffered the first goal and the reaction of FS, who could not lose the game on penalty of being on the brink of elimination, was to leave all the same, and 10 minutes later suffered another goal. Only some time after being lost by 2 goals did you decide to make changes and that changes! He took one of two latches, chose to leave Katsouranis Petit perhaps have available to trim the head in the area and brought into opposing (?!), Nelson to play the extreme. Alcides remained in camp until the end Game Kikin Fonseca and only put a little more than 10 minutes from the end of the game when Miccoli no longer had the strength to support it. Still saved a change, who knows why!. FS errors are clear and established but what is more afflicting his speech. Again, at the press conference, discharged his incompetence in the players and tried to excuse the inexcusable. The
Benfica is already out of the fight for qualification in the Champions (except in the minds of FS) and strides to be out of contention for the championship in the coming weeks. Benfica to appeal to the FS resign as quickly but I doubt that category has to assume its technical incompetence, I call on Vieira / Veiga resign that while it is still possible to recover, at least in the league.

Fencing: Silver Medal for Russia Joaquim Videira

Portugal reached an unprecedented feat in World Championship Fencing held in Turin earlier this month. For the first time in the history of the National Fencing a Portuguese won a medal in this case the silver. Joaquim Videira shooter with 22 years, reached the final of Sword surpassed by Chinese vice Olympic champion, Lei Wang, just one touch. Managed well to get to second top of the podium and, more importantly, bring to Portugal a Silver Medal.
This World Cup was dominated again by the Italians, French, Hungarian, Russian and German. The Chinese, Americans and South Koreans were also highlighted.
Joaquim Videira was greeted by friends and colleagues at Portela Airport in party and was quite amazed blurting out that he was "still living a dream." He also said that the medal was "the reward for all sacrifices, is only the beginning of a long road to achieve the objective that is the Olympics."

.

The provision of the Portuguese delegation in other disciplines, Sabre and Foil not had the same impact, which is not surprising given the lack of sponsorship which condition the preparation for events of this size. We can only hope that we Beijing Games in 2008 results will be even better but if we could bring a medal in fencing would be a done since the last and only, Portuguese medal dates back to 1928 in Amsterdam. At the time a bronze medal teams, also in Sword, achieved by Paulo d'Eça Leal, Mario de Noronha, Jorge Paiva Frederico Paredes, João Sassetti and Henrique da Silveira.

Motorsports: Alonso wins Japanese GP

Already more than Formula 1 did not live up to the uncertainty of the last Grand Prix champion. Despite the advantage of Asturian Alonso being tremendous, the GP at Interlagos, Brazil, will capture the attention of all who love speed.
After a less successful start to the season by the German Michael Schumacher has won five of their last seven before Suzuka GP's and equaled the Spaniard to lead the world, however, with advantage by having one more victory than Alonso. The trust was such that announced the withdrawal of the "circus" this year. Everything was taken to postpone getting his own record to eight world titles. Alonso, who is leaving Renault for McLaren on the way, went public stating that he felt alone. Most likely was referring to the fact that he was prevented from participating in the evolution of the Renault single seater for 2007, which is perfectly understandable!
The race began with the Brazilian Ferrari's Felipe Massa on pole position but as soon as the third lap, Schumacher took the lead, never to drop it until the moment when, in the 36th round, the 17 end, the engine of gave his Ferrari and the German saw pass by you and Fernando Alonso's hopes of returning to conquer the world. The Spaniard started from fifth on the grid, and quickly came to the deputy leadership Schumacher pass but the experienced was not easy guessing. The white smoke out the back of the Ferrari No. 5 was, therefore, the best time for Alonso this year!
.
So the title was delivered but there is still almost Interlagos and English have to score but it risks seeing Schumacher win the Grand Prix and the world.
Fernando Alonso is again the leader of the Formula 1 world with 126 points, 10 more than Schumacher.
The eight points that Renault won for Ferrari in Japan were like bread to the mouth of Flavio Briatore who now has nine clear of Brazil. But in the constructors' standings, everything is still open despite the advantage of the French squad. Missing a test and are 18 points up for grabs, just one error for all is rapidly changing.

Japanese GP - Suzuka 2006
.
As for our Tiago Monteiro had a race without major problems but could not better than the 16th and penultimate position just ahead of the Super Aguri of Yamamoto and more than two laps behind the winner. Perhaps it would have achieved a better position if the second set of tires would be better able to order not to have to stop 2 times as planned.
Despite being a single seater Toyota MF1 uncompetitive this season has not gone as expected the Portuguese driver given that last year got great media attention to the finish on the podium in the U.S., despite the specificity of this race, and especially the finish the first 16 races of his rookie season hitting well the record of Jackie Stewart and inscribing his name in the history of Formula 1.
Midland has announced a contract extension with his teammate, Dutchman Christijan Albers, but still made no decision about the other place that is still vague, Tiago Monteiro. It depends on sponsorship. Although belonging mostly to the end of the peloton, with renewed interest in the Portuguese come to Formula 1 when a Portuguese participates and therefore force James.

Surf: Giant waves in Japan

Surfing is a sport enjoyed by countless people around the world although in some situations be linked with any danger to the surfers as are the cases of shark attacks, such as Australia and lately in Recife, Brazil. Also the beaches with many coral reefs have already some danger that the falls can be painful for surfers.
Tom Carroll and his international team fearless surfers now have to meet a new danger to the world but also a new way to overcome barriers to achieve normal levels of adrenaline that we can only imagine.
These surfers travel the globe in search of "monsters" and this time we were almost three months in Japan, the typhoon season, hoping that some of these give rise to gigantic waves. When the time came, and thanks to the typhoon Loke , the waves were up to reach seven meters and it is said, were the biggest ever ridden in the world! Higher than in Australia or Hawaii! Due to the size of the waves, surfers need to be towed by jet ski's since they could not "get" any of the traditional way.
It is the video recording so you can have some sense made of these surfers.

Chronic Liver Disease And Dark Foamy Urine

Motorsports: Rally d'Italia Sardegna

Sanremo Historic Rally gave rise to the Rally of Sardinia fought in the north of the island that gives it its name. Main consequence of this change, the Rally of Italy became one of many rallies in the global land instead of traditional asphalt rally. This rally may be characterized as so many others in the world, the route is hilly, the roads are narrow and the starting order is always important since the first "clean" the floor for the following.
Loeb has been giving chances to competition but where on earth there have Grönholm. Here again with Norwegian Petter Solberg who is always a candidate and has been improving during the year.
This rally was on the road 19-21 May.
.

began the first day with Gronholm after the injury, won the first three special leaving Hirvonen and fellow champion Loeb more than 40 seconds. Loeb, who had come to climb the rankings in the morning, won the two following special approaching the Finnish and ended the day 35.4 seconds of the leader, who eventually won the final.
The misfortune knocked on the door Matthew Wilson, who, before starting the rally, had to replace the engine penalizing one minute. During the morning the league had problems with the suspension that could only be addressed after the first 3 special Park Service and the 4th special had to stop to change the electronic control unit lost four minutes. Wilson ended the day 75 of the nearly 50 minutes of the leader. Also
Petter Solberg to the days was complicated with several holes that prevented him from keeping in the front seat. At baseline to last day's special, Solberg was in 6, about 1 minute and 40 seconds of the lead, but at the end of the day ended in 14 to more than 6 minutes and 40 seconds of Gronholm. The
11th place of Francois Duval and 19th Harry Rovanpera the end of the day were big disappointments for the fans and the 12th place of Manfred Stohl which occupies the 4th position of the world's riders.

The second day had just started as the first, however, soon dropouts. Soon the 2nd special Grönholm was that after the jump Micky, hit a rock causing the engine of your Focus would lose oil. Again Gronholm gave when they occupied the leadership of a rally. With that Loeb jumped to the command that would not leave until the end of the rally.
Petter Solberg was always very quick in the second day and eventually win a special. At the end of the day was already 8 with more opportunities to climb three places overall. Since his brother Henning was forced to quit in the middle of the 9th special when he was 3 rd overall.
The two Spaniards, Sordo and Pons continued the great rally that was to make the first move up to 3rd second place and the 4th.

Rally Sardegna 2006 - Video Eurosport

Going into the third day it was guaranteed to win (except for any accident or mishap mechanical) for the dual-Kronos Total, Loeb and Elena.
Despite this fact the fight for some intermediate positions was still well lit. Petter Solberg was one of those who still had aspirations for something more. He started the day as he had finished the previous one and came to be in the battle for 6th place Valimaki, however, a steering problem in the last special threw it back out of the points, ended the rally in 9th. Valimaki would still get to 5th place also in the last special as the other Subaru, Atkinson, left the road due to poor visibility and did not actually finish the special suffering a penalty five minutes that put him in 10th position. The two Spaniards held the 3rd and 4th places in general and the Belgian François Duvall eventually charge a point of taking advantage of the problems Subarus.
Manfred Stohl, who ran a mild rally, achieved thanks also to the problems of Subarus, enter the points that are of enormous importance for sua classificação no mundial.
